Off to the Concert

P965
Early start today. Straight off for ward round, and back to the apartment by 8.30, waiting for the boys to get ready. We were off again by 9.30.

The concert today was at the same venue as the last couple of years, at the HGH Convention Hall in Sentul. It was easy to get to the place but parking was a pain. We were lucky that we managed to get a spot opposite the gall, but the worry was, we may be double parked.

The boys show should finish by eleven, after which we were planning an early exit ….

Back to Tasik Perdana

P722
We spent the afternoon at the park at Tasik Perdana. The weather was kind even though it had been threatening to rain for the couple of hours preceding. It held up, and the boys had their dose of playground for the week.

For a reason, the place was quite quite. Maybe because everybody was worried about the rain. That did not deter a few of the brides-to-be in their wedding dresses posing for the camera. I counted at least 5 couples.

We then had some tea and ice cream by the boathouse. A nice place although it was a shame that the boats had been out of commission for the last couple of years.

By the time we were about to leave, the heaven opened. just in time …..

Universal Studios Singapore

Everyone has been asking me, was the trip to Universal Studios worth it? Of course! Most definitely. I initially had problem convincing my children to go. After all, there was a huge billboard along the MRR2 near my house in Gombak which said, “Sunway Lagoon, Asia’s Best Attraction.” And they swore by that!

Now, they kept telling me that Universal Studios couldn’t be as good. After the trip, they changed their mind.

But, if you don’t believe the boy’s endorsement, you should go there yourself. It was electric. From the moment you enter the park, the excitement was palpable.

We went there on a Monday. The crowd was apparently lighter, but still a bit more than a typical Monday since it was a public holiday in Malaysia. I could tell that the majority of the visitors - as well as the staffs - were from Malaysia. We got purr tickets beforehand via the internet, so all we had to do was start straight at the entrance queue. We reached there shortly after 10.30 am, and there was already a crowd. Despite that, everything was orderly. The next step was to pick up the park map. They were everywhere and easy to get hold off.

The park was basically devised into 7 areas, all with a unique theme. In the end we spent more time at the Lost World - a Jurassic Park-based attraction - and Far Far Away where Shrek lived. The main dining area was by Hollywood area.

Rather than dwell on in one long entry, I might as well write on the individual area separately. So, watch this space …..

Who wants pancake?

P409
After we took turn having breakfast at the main cafe, it was the boys’ turn to have some breakfast. What did they want? Pancakes.

And they were gorgeous. The maple syrup that went with them was just heavenly. And guess who finished them up in the end? Puan Anita ….

Day 3

P404
Just done with breakfast, but don’t worry, I did not get myself drunk! Food was great, and the service was super efficient as always. We had to take turns today, so, I had my breakfast first, then Anita. The boys would have something in the room.

Plans for today? We will be going into town on MRT. We had a practice run last night back home from Arab Street. Irfan seemed to have figured it out pretty fast. Will be getting a day pass today and would be heading for Orchard by lunch.

But, the first order of business is getting the boys into the shower ….

Universal Studios, and Beyond!

P390
Just returned from Universal Studios and just too tired to blog too much. We had fun, but it would have been better of the boys had their friends with them since the get rather irritated in a big crowd.

The express pass we purchased for an extra SGD30 per head was a life saver. It meant that we did not have to queue with the main crowd - it did not apply web I tried to cut the queue to have my photo with Marilyn Monroe though!

I got drenched in one of the ride. But on the whole, it was great fun. Definitely worth the trouble. I wished that the children were not as grumpy. Should we returned, we were sure to bring their cousins or friends with them. Will blog later.

Kid’s E World, Gardens Mid Valley

The boys were craving to go to the park but the weather was too hot and it was only 3 pm. We were at Mid Valley Gardens and we decided to give Kid’s E-World on the top floor a go.

The place had been open since last year but we never got around to try it. Entrance fee was rather steep at RM50 per head, plus the boys had to pay for the socks. Parents get in free of course but you had to purchase socks if you were not wearing one.

The place was actually bigger than it looked from the outside and true to the amount you paid for entrance, the facilities there were very well maintained. The toilets were clean and children friendly. They also had a small cafe for snacks. Nice open space for the children to roam around but it would soon get too crowded as they had separate area for toddlers and older children.

The waiting area for parents were quite comfortable. The entrance fee was good for the whole day, so you could come in and out as many times as you wanted to. Handy. I was not sure if they had a drop in service but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do.

With such a high entrance fee, I couldn’t help but to feel that the place should offer more. My kids enjoyed it however and that was the main thing. As long as I had a bean bag, I wouldn’t be complaining either.

Handsome boys on Flickr.

Both Idlan and Irfan had finished their performances. As mentioned on my Flickr and twitter feed, the stage was amazing and the shows were actually much better than it was last year at least.

Irfan went on first first, to perform a disco dance. Very cute. Idlan later did the twist. Both were smack in the middle, and now I understood why they were rather apprehensive this morning. They were both point of references. A tall order that.

Irfan’s dance involved him prancing across the floor and prancing he did. Idlan’s was a more subdued choreography, and he mainly stayed with the same partner, an Australian girl. He did not want to let her go in the end. Gosh!

I got my videos as well, and my God did I have to jostle for space. There were so many parents with cameras everywhere. It was rather easy for me as the two boys were right in the middle. So, now I was just waiting for Idlan to finish his snacks before we head home. Time to sort out the photos next.

Stage is almost set on Flickr.

The plan to wake up extra early this morning was shattered with the fact that I decided to kill the alarm off. It was too cosy on the bed with the boys that I decided to delay. We ended getting out of bed after 8 which was actually a touch late. Well, we did go out for a nice dinner last night.

As you had guessed, it was our school concert this morning. The hall was in Sentul and despite setting off on tine, little that we expect q traffic jam at 10 in the morning. Well, I guessed anything was possible in KL. Got the driver to dropped us off, and Ee rushed up the stairs to get the boys to their teachers for last minute touch ups. Managed to get a nice seat, one which I can get up near the stage easy to get some videos. So, looking forward to that. And another thing. The VIP was late again ……
